About Me
Meet Brooks Davis: The Philosophy Behind Boulder Dynamic Acupuncture
Dynamic (adj): Characterized by constant change, activity, or progress.
In my practice, I believe that health isn’t a static destination—it’s a dynamic process. Your body is an ever-shifting system, constantly adapting to your environment, your stress, and your movement. At Boulder Dynamic Acupuncture, my goal is to meet you exactly where you are today and provide the specific input—whether through needles, herbs, or manual therapy—to restore your body’s natural flow and vitality.
A Foundation in Movement and Vitality
My journey toward this approach began right here in Boulder at the Colorado School for Clinical Herbalism. There, I learned how Western Herbalism can spark the body’s internal chemistry. But I knew that true health required addressing the physical structure, too.
That quest led me to the shores of Kauai, Hawaii, where I immersed myself in massage therapy at the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork. Those years as a massage therapist taught me the “language of the body”—how touch and movement are the keys to unlocking chronic tension. It gave me a hands-on, anatomical perspective that I carry into every acupuncture treatment today.
From Patient to Practitioner
Life is dynamic, and sometimes that means unexpected shifts. After a significant car accident, I found myself on the other side of the treatment table. Dealing with my own recovery was the ultimate lesson in resilience. It was acupuncture that finally bridged the gap between my physical pain and my internal recovery.
This experience was the catalyst for me to commit to the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder. I realized that by combining the ancient wisdom of the needles with my background in bodywork and herbalism, I could offer a truly multi-layered approach to wellness.
How We Work Together
I don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” treatments. Because of my background in massage, I spend time palpating and listening to the muscles before the needles ever go in. I use my knowledge of herbs to support your system from the inside out.
